'Themes just fly at me', said Dvoř��k as he wrote the most beautiful melodies with the greatest of ease. After his heavy and stormy Seventh Symphony, he wanted to show a different side of himself with the Eighth : cheerful and lyrical. The joy of life radiates from it, certainly also due to the influence of the Bohemian folk music that Dvořák was so fond of. It is therefore not surprising that this became one of the Czech master's most beloved symphonies.

The unparalleled American violinist Esther Yoo already shone last season of Het Zondagmorgen Concert with Glazunov's Violin Concerto . Now she returns with Bruch and Tchaikovsky.
