Jan van Duikeren & Marcel Veenendaal
The concert of Jan van Duikeren & Marcel Veenendaal in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam is unfortunately sold out. Last summer, super trumpeter Jan van Duikeren and Di-Rect singer Marcel Veenendaal, together with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, successfully paid tribute to Chet Baker in the Grote Zaal. Now the two are back with a more intimate project: together with seasoned jazz cats Karel Boehlee (piano), Aram Kersbergen (bass) and John Engels (drums) they have made a beautiful album. A record with songs that have a special place in their hearts.

Marcel's voice is one in a thousand. In addition to his work with DI-RECT, he regularly performed as a guest at DWDD , won a golden throat and enchanted the whole of the Netherlands with the song Soldier On . Jan van Duikeren is one of the most leading trumpet players of the moment. In addition to his own projects, he is a popular guest musician, including with Candy Dulfer, the Metropole Orchestra, Paul Weller and Sheila E. In his own quartet JVD4 he plays with John Engels, the legendary drummer who played a lot with Chet Baker, bassist Aram Kersbergen and pianist Karel Boehlee. In this concert, three members of his quartet will also play on stage in the Kleine Zaal.
