Karina Canellakis is praised by de Volkskrant for her 'sense of color'. This comes in handy in Stravinsky's colorful fairytale ballet Petrushka, which conjures up enchanting images even without dancers. The Netherlands Radio Choir takes center stage in Leonard Bernstein's compelling Chichester Psalms.

Stravinsky's Petrushka
Petrushka is one of Igor Stravinsky's most beloved ballets. The fairy tale full of sorcery and magical figures is a modern classic. The melodies are beautiful and intriguing, the work bursts with rhythmic power. It became one of Stravinsky's great successes. Leonard Bernstein has been back in the spotlight since Bradley Cooper's film Maestro. In his Chichester Psalms his emotional extravagance takes on religious depth. The large-scale choral work is rhythmically compelling and melodically extremely catchy.
