KOFFIE
Since 2013, the Amsterdam septet KOFFIE has been bringing joy with their unique mix of jazz, funk and Afro-Brazilian rhythms. Founded by guitarist Valentijn Bannier and drummer Abe van der Woude at the Amsterdam Conservatory, the groove machine emerged from their shared love for Fela Kuti and Tony Allen. The natural chemistry and energy on stage led to the self-titled debut album, on which Nassan Silva Lopes provided vocals. A 2nd and 3rd album followed with a guest appearance by Benny Sings and this took them on tour through Europe and beyond. KOFFIE returns with the refined and energetic 4th album Kokon, on which the band sounds even tighter and funkier without making concessions to innovation.
