Davis performs with the musicians who also appear on the album, bassist Robert Hurst and drummer Johnathan Blake. Kris Davis recently surprised with her groundbreaking album 'Diatom Ribbons' (Live at the Village Vanguard) with DJ Val Jeanty on turntables, Julian Lage on guitar, Trevor Dunn on bass and Terri Lyne Carrington on drums. The project was previously heard on our stage. The pianist also played on Carrington's Grammy-winning album 'New Standards Vol. 1'. Time and again she knows how to surprise with new bands and over the years she has worked with Ingrid Laubrock, Esperanza Spalding, John Zorn and Dave Holland, among others.
