The program highlights mortality with Requiem Canticles and honors John F. Kennedy, Dylan Thomas and TS Eliot with Stravinsky's subdued elegy. The concert's final pieces evoke a serene and contemplative mood, characterized by their ethereal melodies and harmonies. Stravinsky evokes a sense of spiritual reverence with these pieces, with the soft and transcendent musical phrases creating an atmosphere of introspection and meditation.
