Maite Hontelé
Trumpeter and bandleader Maite Hontelé lived in Colombia between 2009 and 2018. A decade in which she released 5 CDs and gave many concerts all over the world with her own Latin (jazz) band. The albums Déjame Así
and
Cuba Linda were nominated for a Latin Grammy. Cuba Linda won a Cubadisco award for best international album in 2019 and was nominated for an Edison Jazz/World in 2020.
Alain Perez
Cuban bassist, singer and Grammy winner Alain Pérez is seen as a musical genius and is an eminence in the salsa, Latin jazz and flamenco scene. That is special, for someone who is not of Spanish but of Cuban descent. There is therefore little in the musical field that Pérez cannot do. That became clear early on, because before he was thirty he became a household name through his role as bandleader of the legendary singer Celia Cruz.
