Since their introduction to the Master's program at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Aina Font (saxophone) and Diana Sanz Pascual (cello) have formed Duo Nim together and not only immediately won an important French prize, but also the hearts of the audience with their lyrical sounds and virtuosity game. In Miniaturas, two young talented musicians take you on a journey to the last century in very short compositions, each with their own story, colour and taste: from Ravel's France via the Latin rhythms of Elizondo to the highly spiritual Japan with Kokoro.
Don't be fooled by the size of a miniature! It hides many details and exudes its own mysterious personality. Just like the duo, which covers a broad, refreshing and new musical spectrum with the special combination of saxophone and cello.
This special duo of cello and saxophone won the Jeunes Talents France Award 2023, a year after its formation with a program of classical music, folk, contemporary and improvised music. Aina and Diana see infinite horizons with both their instruments' lyrical and glowing sounds.
