Trio BaarsBuisDeman
Sketchy chamber jazz with compositions by Ab Baars on three wind instruments: whimsical, lyrical, crazy and rebellious, reveling in freedom and avoiding the heavy-handed.

Combination of three horns
The combination of three horns could also suggest the festive staccato energy of a marching band, the steamy front line of a New Orleans jazz ensemble or perhaps... just three people waiting breathlessly for a rhythm section?
In any case: this trio is something else. BaarsBuisDeman is nothing less than a true dream ensemble and capable of an infinite range of timbres: from the lowest tuba low to the highest shakuhachi high and all (well, most) sounds in between.
You just have to go and hear it with your own ears.
With: Ab Baars: clarinet, shakuhachi, compositions, Joost Buis: trombone and Berlinde Deman: tuba, serpent (a seventeenth-century wind instrument in the shape of a snake)
