As a poet and singer-songwriter, Smith uniquely fuses poetry with punk rock. Her first work, 'Horses', gave the starting signal for the worldwide punk revolution. She played a crucial role in New York's music and art scene in the 1970s and 1980s and became the figurehead of the counterculture.
Patti Smith and Paradiso
Patti Smith and Paradiso have a long shared history. Smith performed there for the first time on May 15, 1976, and gave a total of 16 concerts there in 46 years. She also appeared four times in De Duif in Amsterdam under the Paradiso banner. Her shows, announced today in July 2024, will be concert numbers 17 and 18 in Paradiso.
