Labasheeda
Amsterdam post-punk and noise rock band Labasheeda is known for its dynamic and intense performances and its very own sound, partly due to the idiosyncratic guitar and bass lines of Arne Wolfswinkel, and the distinctive voice of Saskia van der Giessen.
Labasheeda's music is adventurous with often fast tempo changes in the songs, and varies from heavy rock with melodic vocal lines to hypnotic soundcapes with violin. Recently this sound is supplemented with keys, which makes the sound even more layered live.
In November 2023, Labasheeda released their sixth long-player Blueprints, which received very positive international reviews and which is why the band is currently playing a lot abroad.
Temple of Diez
At the end of October 2024, Dutch/French/Italian band Templo Diez released their long-awaited new album 'Sunland' (named after a Californian ghost town). This 7th album marks the beginning of a new trilogy and takes the listener on a journey through 9 songs in the introspective and cinematic style that is characteristic of the band. Inspired by ghost towns along the American Pacific states and largely written during the pandemic, 'Sunland' begins a new journey for the band through a mythical America, further exploring themes of loss, loneliness, hope and redemption. Back in their original trio line-up, this seventh album (and the beginning of a third trilogy!) marks a renewed creativity for the band.
At the crossroads of Americana, slowcore and indie rock, Templo Diez's music draws its inspiration from travels, landscapes, true stories and dreamed memories, from films, novels, poetry,... As with previous releases, each song can be experienced as a short film soundtrack. On 'Sunland', in typical Templo Diez style, each song is also a short story, an emotional study of the characters in the songs, with their fears, wounds and motivations.
The resulting songs form a kaleidoscopic whole that alternates personal and introspective themes with gothic impressions of an America born of fever dreams and cheap late-night TV in abandoned motels.
