Terrace concerts 2024 - no blues
So this is not a blues, just to be clear. Or is it? No blues likes to throw sand in the listener's ears, or rather: stardust. The musicians themselves like to speak of 'arabicana': a cross between American roots music (americana) and the rich Arabic tradition, in which the guitar and the oud stand side by side. In this way, no blues allows the Nile and the Mississippi to flow together in one gigantic musical delta.

A blend of Arabic music and Americana
No blues has been around for twenty years now. Co-founder Ad van Meurs passed away in 2017, but in his spirit the other musicians are picking up the thread again. UD player Haytham Safia and bassist Anne-Maarten van Heuvelen are also early members. Their melancholic blend of folk, Arabic makams and – yes – blues straight from the heart is the perfect soundtrack for the evening sun.
