Jazz in Guest and Red Light Jazz festival

The Jazz te Gast festival will take place on June 7 and 8, a biennial music festival that transforms the small Zuidhorn into the absolute center of European jazz. The iconic trumpeter Avishai Cohen is Artist in Residence of Jazz te Gast and, together with composer Tijn Wybenga, puts together part of the program, in which seventy-five top musicians give 25 concerts spread over two days.

On Sunday evening, when the Red Light Jazz festival also takes place in Amsterdam, Wybenga brings a selected musical group (including Cohen) to the Bimhuis, consisting of Vernon Chatlein, Suzan Veneman, Anton Eger and Joachim Badenhorst, among others. It promises to be an exciting melting pot of new compositions, improvisations and spontaneous musical ideas from a total of twelve top musicians in different line-ups.
