Vijay Iyer Trio
American innovator of the proven instrumentation of the piano trio. Vijay Iyer is back at the BIMpodium for a new look at his oeuvre for piano trio. The American pianist is an excellent example for the current jazz generation because of his originality. The album contains interpretations of work by Mary Lou Williams, Roscoe Mitchell and Stevie Wonder, in addition to own compositions inspired by poet Eve L. Ewing and freedom fighter Desmond Tutu, among others.
