Impressive voice

Aynur Doğan is a Kurdish singer and musician from Turkey. She combines traditional Kurdish folk music with contemporary influences. In the past, she has collaborated with many musicians, including the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, Yo-Yo Ma & Silk Road Ensemble, Kayhan Kalhor, Javier Limón, Kinan Azmeh and the NDR Bigband.

Aynur's impressive voice represents the Kurdish musical heritage of her cultural roots. With that voice, she is now one of the best-selling artists in Kurdish folk music and is praised worldwide. For example, Aynur appeared as a cover model in several important world music magazines, such as Songlines Magazine (2020), Folk Roots (fRoots), The London Times and Sons.

International class

On October 30, 2021, Aynur received the 'WOMEX 2021 Artist Award' at the awards ceremony in Porto. From the jury report: 'She is an example for all who sing against political oppressors.'
