A song of homesickness

Kees van Boxtel was already an experienced, trained musician when he discovered the bansuri, a bamboo flute, and the way of playing, with glide notes, decorations and different rhythms than we are used to in Europe, while traveling in India. He learned to improvise on classical Indian melody lines (ragas) and rhythms (talas), which he specialized in again in the Netherlands. He has now played with countless Indian musicians and this spring he was on tour in India, where he was welcomed throughout the country as a grand master of the bansuri. His flute sings a song full of nostalgia for a home, a home that reaches further than India and is closer than the breath.

Yin yoga

The calm, meditative and at the same time intense postures of yin yoga provide the opportunity to sink deeper into consciousness, beyond the thinking patterns of the mind. On the yoga mat, physical sensations intertwine with the musical improvisations. Thoughts calm down, creating space to openly encounter the music and poetry.

Practical information

Book your ticket here . The doors open at 10:45 am, the yoga concert starts at 11 am and lasts an hour and a half. Bring a mat and possibly a water bottle and props. If you don't have a mat, you can borrow one. The instructions and poetry are bilingual.
