Drawing Urban Wilderness
The Illustration Embassy celebrates Amsterdam 750 with an exhibition about the nature of Westerpark. Beautiful illustrations and data visualisations show the biodiversity, from birds to special plants. Visitors are invited to see the park with new eyes and discover nature. Suitable for young and old, on display from 1 to 18 May in Meterhuisje at Westergas.

The frayed edges of the city
Urban nature is hidden in the frayed edges of the city, between pavements, in city parks, and on vacant lots. During the interactive manifestation 'Getekende Stadswildernis' (Drawn Urban Wilderness), the Illustration Embassy sheds light on nature amidst human activity. Biodiversity is often greater in parks and greenery in the city than in some places in the countryside. For the celebration of Amsterdam 750, Westergas is shining the spotlight and depicting the biodiversity of the Westerpark. They are opening a shared studio in Meterhuis, where illustrators, Amsterdammers and other interested people can discover the diversity of animals and plants in the area.
