kes-tchaas / mello
He uses his camera as a witness and a tool to tell stories. His photography marks a turning point in kes-tchaas' process and artistic development, in which he spreads his wings and embraces life lessons. Each photo functions as both a document and a reflection, capturing encounters with people, places and histories. His work is rooted in the tradition of oral tradition and inspired by Chinua Achebe's assertion that history belongs to those who tell it. Each image becomes a portal that captures fleeting moments of connection, resilience and cultural continuity across different geographical areas.
The exhibition invites the visitor to travel through these visual testimonies. 'The World is Your Oyster' is an act of reclamation and self-discovery, but also a reminder that history is not static but alive, shaped by those who dare to tell their own stories.
