Fighting for the Lutkemeerpolder
Voedselpark Amsterdam and Cinema De Vlugt present two documentaries about a unique part of Nieuw-West: the Lutkemeerpolder. First, we will screen a mini-documentary by local residents about this endangered green gem. Following this we will see the award-winning film 'Meer - The battle for the last fields of Amsterdam'. Prior to this film program, a short IDFA documentary will also be shown, as a foretaste of the films that will be shown during IDFA in November in Cinema de Vlugt.

'More – The battle for the last fields of Amsterdam'
How did it get to this point? Why is an industrial estate being built in the first place? And are there alternatives? Filmmaker Bart Melief follows the development of the industrial estate in the Lutkemeerpolder and the protests against it over the course of three years. With his film Meer (2023) he wanted to record this historic event and pay homage to a small polder in a big city.
