Alfredo Rodríguez took a big leap when he moved from Havana, Cuba, to America. The freedom of jazz attracted him, and he left his strict classical education behind him. His career took off, and he was even nominated for a Grammy. Now, he lives in Miami, where the musical melting pot of the Latino community constantly inspires him. Salsa, timba, bachata, tango, bolero and reggaeton: all these radiant sounds are part of Alfredo’s new album, Coral Way, which will be released this fall.

Alfredo Rodriguez

Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodríguez was discovered by Quincy Jones at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2006. Since then, he has released four albums under his own name. He has performed several times with his idol, Chick Corea. In 2019, he played before a sold-out Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ with Richard Bona, a concert co-organized by our venue. Now he will return to our stage with his main trio, which captivated a full house in 2021.
