All Ellington builds on the rich tradition of Duke Ellington. Ellington said, “The music of my race is something more than the American idiom.” Improvisation and individuality formed the core of his music, and the same is true for All Ellington. With warm timbres and adventurous solos, they perform innovative compositions and arrangements. This ensemble asks the question, "in what ways can we still reinterpret this music?" The group consists of young and experienced musicians, who combine the ensemble format with strong individual performances.
