Patricia Brennan
Marimbist and vibraphonist Patricia Brennan has been widely hailed as one of the instrument's new leading figures, as noted by The New York City Jazz Record. She grew up in Veracruz and immersed herself in the rich musical culture of Mexico during her youth. Patricia's search for freedom in expression led to expanding the range and possibilities of her instruments through improvisation, her own compositions and live electronics. The result is an enchanting sound world where she takes us with her electro-acoustic duo MOCH.
Sasha Berliner
She has already been described as a 'young master of the sticks' by JazzTimes. Twenty-something Sasha Berliner is an award-winning vibraphonist and composer based in New York. She has already shared the stage with Christian McBride, Tyshawn Sorey, Marcus Gilmore and Cecile Mclorin Salvant, among others. Sasha recently released her second album Onyx, described as a 'vibrant, unapologetic avant-garde recording.' During AMW, Sasha plays with a band specially put together for the occasion.
Tatiana Koleva
Recognized as a virtuoso and innovator in the field of marimba and percussion, Tatiana Koleva has premiered more than 130 diverse works created specifically for her solo and ensemble projects. Her performance style is described by the press as 'very energetic with intriguing rhythms and surprising musical developments.' She is the founder and artistic director of the Amsterdam Marimba Weekend and the award-winning formation The (Youth) Percussion Pool. She forms a new duo with Zhivo Vasilev, inspired by their Bulgarian rhythms and vocal music.
