Aural Spaces: Space as a Collective Sonic Instrument (listening session)

Taking the historic Concertgebouw as a starting point, 16 artists have explored sound as a communal and spatially dynamic experience. They have collected sound material from inside and outside the Concertgebouw and experimented with manipulating and recomposing sounds in space. These sonic experiments will resonate uniquely within the acoustics of the Kleine Zaal during this intimate listening session. They are inspired by the theory and practice of sound innovators such as Pauline Oliveros, the writings of Jacek Smolicki on Transversal Listening, and a collective approach to spatial sound composition.
