Beethovens Symfonie nr. 7 and Anastasia Kobekina plays Rococo-variations

Beethoven's grandiose Seventh Symphony played a leading role in the Oscar-winning film The King's Speech. This music sounds just as moving and compelling in the Great Hall this morning. Anastasia Kobekina lets her beautiful Stradivarius cello shine in Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations.

Beethoven's Symphony No. 7

Beethoven's Seventh Symphony is all movement. From the extremely rhythmic and dancing first part to the energetic finale. The second part, a moving funeral march, is of incredible beauty. It is one of the most beloved slow movements from Beethoven's oeuvre and is the climax of the film classic The King's Speech .

Anastasia Kobekina plays Rococo variations

Anastasia Kobekina is one of those musicians who immediately wraps everyone who hears her play around her finger. It is not without reason that she won the prestigious Leonard Bernstein Award 2024. 'Ironing is singing for Kobekina. You can hear it in her smooth timing and sliding into a note. She plays expressively squarely, but avoids sentiment,' wrote de Volkskrant in early 2024 in response to her album Venice . Kobekina studied in Paris and Berlin but still has a strong bond with the music of her compatriot Tchaikovsky. Her beautiful Stradivarius cello makes its Rococo variations shine like never before.
