About Sasha Witteveen
Sasha Witteveen studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory and played as an academic in the Concertgebouw Orchestra. She toured the Netherlands as part of the Dutch Classical Talent.
She wants to show how human and intimate the double bass is. The bass is large and not obvious as a solo instrument. She plays in her program Wonderland in addition to a solo suite by Alexander Muravjev, works by Bottesini, a composer close to her heart. As a double bassist you can express lyricism and virtuoso antics in his music, and everything in between.
