Bösendorfer Piano Series: Enrico Pace

We have heard students of Enrico Pace many times in the Bösendorfer Piano Series, but tonight we hear the master himself! The evening starts with six pieces in five minutes: Schönberg clearly did not mince his words. Yet the 6 small piano pieces are considered his most expressive music ever. Then we hear perhaps the most intimate of all piano sonatas by Schubert, the Sonata in G major. After the break, 6 piano pieces are played again, but this time by Brahms, who took a little more time for it than Schönberg. The evening ends with Liszt's magnificent harmonic views of the imaginary Swiss Vallée d'Oberman.
