About Miri Kim

Tokyo-born Korean violinist Miri Kim lives in Germany and is currently studying for her concerto exam at the University of Music in Nuremberg with former concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic, Daniel Gaede. She will also play in the Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester for the next two seasons.

Miri received her bachelor's degree from the Toho Gakuen School of Music with Koichiro Harada in Japan and her master's degree from the University of Music, Theatre and Media with Ulf Schneider in Hannover. She subsequently studied in the class of Silvia Marcovici at the Accademia Perosi and the University of Performing Arts Graz, and was a member of the academy of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony/hr-Sinfonieorchester under the direction of Alain Altinoglu.

Miri has won many prizes at international competitions, including 1st prize at the Japan Player's Competition and 3rd prize at the Euroasia International Competition. She has received scholarships from Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Hannover, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and hr-Sinfonieorchester.

About Satomi Chihara

Satomi Chihara, a highly accomplished pianist and Willem Brons’ last student at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, gave acclaimed recitals in 2023 and 2024 as part of Willem Brons Presenteert at the Waalse Kerk in Amsterdam. Her talent was widely recognized in 2022 when she won Third Prize and the Bärenreiter Praha Prize at the 58th Beethoven Hradec International Competition for her performance of Beethoven’s Fifth Piano Concerto, “Emperor,” with the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra. The jury president praised her performance as “very concentrated and demonic.” Her 2022 Concertgebouw debut was also very well received.

Satomi received her bachelor's degree in 2018, graduating at the top of her class, and was awarded the Jacques Vonk Fund talent grant. In 2020, she completed her master's degree under the guidance of professor Naum Grubert. Her talent was recognized early on, with awards from the Young Pianists Foundation in 2015 and the Princess Christina Competition in 2016. She was invited to prestigious festivals such as the Naarden International Piano Festival in 2021 and the International Holland Music Sessions in 2017.
