Ekaterina Levental and Frank Peters together form the Medtner Project and present the 5th and final Medtner album 'Sacred Place' from the cycle Nikolai Medtner, Complete Songs. With the release of this CD they complete a project they have been working on for 7 years; a unique and first integral recording of the songs of Nikolai Medtner (1880-1951).

About Medtner
His best friend Sergei Rachmaninoff said of Medtner that he was the greatest composer of his time. Medtner shows in his 113 songs an enormous refinement in text treatment, form and harmony. He works as if he were polishing diamonds. His works form a treasure of exceptional beauty and meaning in the lied repertoire.
During this concert you will hear songs from the latest album, but also songs from previous CDs. Music full of hope and despair, longing and melancholy, themes such as eternity and transience, strength and vulnerability, on texts by Goethe, Nietzsche, Poejskin, Tjoetsjev and Fet, but also in his exceptional vocalises in which he sets wordless communication as his first goal. It was Medtner's fervent wish to understand each other in the universal language of music. The Medtner Project has set itself the goal of conveying this.
