DeLange, known for his unique approach to music thanks to his synesthesia, creates colourful and expressive musical landscapes with his compositions. His rare form of perception, chromesthesia—where he sees colours and shapes when he hears sounds—enables him to compose music as if he were painting. About Frank de Lange

DeLange (Frank de Lange, born 1972) grew up in a musical family, where he was exposed early on to the works of Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Satie, and Debussy. His studies at the Utrecht Conservatory laid the foundation for his career as an accompanist and composer. However, it was not until the age of 46 that he decided to release his own music, resulting in his debut album Images in 2020.

DeLange has established himself in the neo-classical music scene, amassing over 30 million streams worldwide and a strong online following. His work is characterized by a mantra-like style that places melody at its center, leading to sold-out concerts in prestigious venues such as Het Concertgebouw.

His latest project, an album for piano and horn quartet, builds on this tradition of musical innovation and emotional expression.
