Faden Quartet plays among others Puccini's Crisantemi
In the Amstelveen series 'Elsrijk Chamber Music Concerts' the Faden Quartet plays. This string quartet consists of 4 young musicians, from 4 different countries. They play string quartets from those same four countries: England, Italy, Poland and Australia. Including the quartet that according to some is among the most beautiful music ever written: Puccini's Crisantemi. Location: Main hall of APGEN next to Huis Elsrijk, Graaf Aelbrechtlaan 140, Amstelveen.

Program
Besides Puccini's Crisantemi (1890), the Faden Quartet plays one of the highlights of Purcell's oeuvre, namely Fantasia in E minor (1680). A fine example of English Baroque music. The pieces from Poland and Australia are much less well known, but are an interesting choice. Weinberg (quartet from 1945) was a good friend of Shostakovich and was certainly as famous as he was in Eastern Europe. In Australia, Hyde (quartet from 1947) was a well-known music teacher at the conservatory and at that time one of the few female composers.
