Chamber pop songs

In a café around the corner from his Edinburgh flat, Hawk contemplates his new record. “What unites all the songs is a sense of the unsaid, whether that comes from guilt, shame, repression, shyness, reticence or something else,�� the Scottish musician writes. He creates musical portraits in the form of chamber-pop songs . They are a mix of poetic lyrics and layered instrumentation, inspired by artists such as Leonard Cohen, The Magnetic Fields, and Jarvis Cocker.
