How does caring for your loved one come to life in music? Jeroen Spitteler wrote a 'songbook' especially for the national network of singing groups called Bedside Singers. These are small groups of singers who sing for people in the final stages of their lives. These songs and the St. Martin's Cantata will be performed this time in De Waalse Kerk by a specially assembled choir and orchestra under the direction of the composer. The premiere of Cinque Pensieri di Gandhi will also be heard, a new work by Spitteler based on texts by Mahatma Gandhi in which his desire and striving for peace and justice through non-violent resistance are central.
