Marie-Ange Nguci

Multitalented Marie-Ange Nguci, born in 1998 into a musical Albanian family, is best known as a pianist, but she also plays the organ and cello, she took conducting lessons in Vienna and she obtained her doctorate in Musical Arts in New York. Her debut CD with piano works by Franck, Bach and Saint-Saëns, among others, marked her international breakthrough in 2018. 'A promising artist, who puts finesse above fireworks', wrote a Utah Arts review about the young piano virtuoso.

Beethoven, Chopin, Scriabin, Ravel and Bach

After her successful debut in the Small Hall in 2023, Marie-Ange Nguci returns with a prestigious program. Both Scriabin's Fifth Sonata and Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit are among the most challenging works for solo piano. “A transparent, awe-inspiring performance,” the press wrote of Nguci's Ravel interpretation during her Sydney debut last season. Nguci links Scriabin to Beethoven's contrasting Fantasia and two lyric scherzi by Chopin. To conclude the evening, Ferruccio Busoni's famous arrangement of Bach's masterful Chaconne will be played.
