Different combinations
In a diverse program, we hear her in various combinations with piano and cello, starting with music by the French violinist-composer Ysaÿe, who was inspired by Norwegian folk melodies. In Kodály's 'Duo for violin and cello', we hear clear influences from Hungarian folk music, church scales and traditional dances.
We conclude with one of the most beloved piano trios: the 'Dumky' trio by the Czech Antonin Dvořák, named after the 'Dumka', a sad Slavic folk ballad that forms the 6 parts of the work in six times.
