With his light touch, he achieves a beautiful balance between different idioms, releasing an abundance of timbres and harmonies. His spontaneous improvisations appear as thoughtful compositions. 'Call on the Old Wise' was recorded in Lugano and produced by Manfred Eicher, founder of the high-quality label ECM Records. Nitai Hershkovits previously played on Oded Tzur's ECM albums 'Here Be Dragons' and 'Isabela'. As a pianist, he made a name for himself as a band member of star bassist Avishai Cohen, with whom he also performed at the Bimhuis. He could also be heard at the Bimhuis in the Ari Hoenig, Oded Tzur and Or Bareket ensembles. He was also a keyboardist in the electric formation Apifera at the Bimhuis.
