Punkt.vrt.Plastik
'Punkt' is Swedish for point of view or statement, 'Vrt' is Slovenian for garden and 'Plastik' is German for plasticity. In other words: this trio, with Slovenian pianist Kaja Draksler, Berlin bassist Petter Eldh and drummer Christian Lillinger, makes a musical point, brings it to fruition and ultimately makes it concrete. The trio will perform at the Bimhuis.

The trio, with Slovenian pianist Kaja Draksler, Berlin bassist Petter Eldh and drummer Christian Lillinger, was formed at the Bimhuis October Meeting 2016. Since then, this formation has released three albums; the untitled debut from 2018, Somit from 2021, on which microtonality and refined post-production techniques are explored and Zurich Concert from 2022, on which the trio proves that it also masters the jumpy, precise playing style live. Kaja Draksler has performed solo with us before and also with her eight-piece ensemble. Petter Eldh and Christian Lillinger played here with the formation Amok.Amor, among others. 'The best tracks here have the feel of a classic jazz album subjected to William S. Burroughs' cut-up method or the whims of a particularly keyed-up remixer... like those moments at the first peak of a roller coaster ride, before you're sent tumbling into an adrenalized thrill ride' (Downbeat).
