Yoga Concert - live music, poetry & yin yoga

A music performance and yin yoga class in one. That is the formula of the yoga concerts on Saturday mornings. The live improvised music, yoga postures and mystical poetry are the ingredients for a journey within. Today, sitar player Tammo Heikens will perform his improvisations, André Meeusen will guide the yoga class, which this time is built around a poem by Elias Amidon. Come to Jungle Amsterdam at Tweede van Swindenstraat 26 if you want to attend this yoga session and concert.

Sorcerer's apprentice

Tammo Heikens is a sorcerer's apprentice. After studying at the conservatory, he left for India, where he was taught by the legendary 'sitar player of the century' Budhaditya Mukherjee. Since then, he has brought his music to the intersection between musicality and spirituality: he plays just as easily in Sufi temples and yoga halls as he does for the musical connoisseurs of Vpro's Vrije Geluiden. He collaborated with musicians worldwide; for example, his playing can be heard on Dana Devi's albums.
