A place of silence

The HA!Man (born Francois le Roux) is a troubadour who travels the world as an independent musician, spending several months each year in both Europe and South Africa, and sometimes touring America and Asia. 'One of South Africa's most talented artists,' stated the South African newspaper Die Burger, 'he used flute, cello and piano to almost put his audience into a trance.' And the weekly magazine Talk of the Town wrote that he is 'redefining modern South African music,' with the reviewer impressed by his quality and originality: 'It rarely happens that an artist puts so much of himself into a performance.'

His stage name expresses his spontaneous way of making music, a creativity that arises from a flow of feeling, a breath: HA! The many reviews on his website hamanworld.com testify to the transformative and healing power of his music, which leaves visitors changed after a performance. "I'm still stunned," one person wrote, "Your music opened a door to a place of silence."

On his website he tells how he lets go of everything at every concert to start over again. A Song of Yoga with the HA!Man therefore above all means a dive into the unknown - a groping that starts with a Ha! and leads to a silence, between which everything is possible.

Yin yoga

The calm, meditative and at the same time intense postures of yin yoga provide the opportunity to sink deeper into consciousness, beyond the thinking patterns of the mind. On the yoga mat, physical sensations intertwine with the musical improvisations. Thoughts calm down, creating space to encounter the music and poetry openly and from the body.

Practical information

There is a covered piano on the Stadshout Pavilion, and there is room for the yoga mats under the open sky, on a stone surface. If rain is forecast, an email will be sent two hours in advance whether or not the yoga concert will take place (tickets will be returned to you or can be used for another time). A cancellation will also be mentioned on the website and on Facebook.

Bring a mat, and possibly a water bottle and props such as a seat cushion, block and/or a blanket. The instructions and poetry are bilingual. You are welcome to find a place from 6:45 PM. There are parking spaces along the motorway/cycle track next to the park, parking is free from 7 p.m. The Amstelpark is open until half an hour before sunset.
