Intuitive piano sounds

Her first yoga concert was in December, where she impressed with her intuitive playing, tranquil and tender, with refined rhythms that provide a sharp edge. In the press her compositions are compared to the work of Arvo Pärt, Erik Satie and Claude Debussy. The piano piece 'Sadness' is even, according to one review, 'the work of a genius' and 'difficult to equate with any living pianist'. This Friday evening she will play her 'Instant Music' in the Amstelpark: intuitively improvised piano sounds, which come in so softly that you want to float away on your yoga mat.

What is a yoga concert?

A concert, poetry reading and yin yoga class in one – that is the formula of the yoga concerts. The calm, meditative and at the same time intense postures of yin yoga provide the opportunity to sink deeper into consciousness, beyond the thinking patterns of the mind. On the yoga mat, physical sensations intertwine with the musical improvisations. Thoughts calm down, creating space for an open encounter: the live improvised music, the yoga postures and mystical poetry bundle together, interact and strengthen each other for a journey inward.

Practical information

There is a covered piano on the Stadshout Pavilion, and there is room for the yoga mats under the open sky, on a stone surface. If rain is forecast, an email will be sent two hours in advance whether or not the yoga concert will take place (tickets will be returned to you or can be used for another time). A cancellation will also be mentioned on the website and on Facebook.

Bring a mat, and possibly a water bottle and props such as a seat cushion, block and/or a blanket. The instructions and poetry are bilingual. You are welcome to find a place from 6:45 PM. There are parking spaces along the motorway/cycle track next to the park, parking is free from 7 p.m. The Amstelpark is open until half an hour before sunset.
