Bhakti
The word 'Bhakti' comes from Sanskrit and means devotion to the divine, which for Zoh Amba equates to music. In this she finds a kinship with the legendary saxophonist Albert Ayler, one of the founders of free jazz. In recent years, Zoh Amba has played together with William Parker, Tyshawn Sorey and Vijay Iyer, among others.
