Exhibition about Private Spaces
In a world of expanding networks and urbanization, private space is taking on a new meaning. What does it mean for us? Where do we find it, and what do we do with it? Featuring paintings, installations, ceramics, and tapestries, this multidisciplinary exhibition showcases the perspectives of five young female artists on the theme of Private Spaces at the creative hub Vrijpaleis.

In this day and age, is private still private
In a world of ever-expanding networks and globalized urbanization, the concept of private space takes on new meaning. What does it mean for us? Where do we find it, and what do we do there? These are the central questions that are explored in Private Spaces, a group exhibition with five different artists in the Vrijpaleis art space. Through their works, these artists share intimate stories and reveal hidden stories, offering glimpses into their own private realms.
Using scenographic installations that use different media such as textiles, ceramics and found objects, the artists delve into the relationship with our environment and explore the complexities of human connection, or the lack thereof. With a shared emphasis on tactility and imperfection, the exhibition shows how traces and memories of human presence become tangible in the physical world.
By exploring the subtleties of personal space and the dynamics of human interaction, the artists invite viewers to reflect on their own experiences and perceptions of privacy, intimacy and connection amid the modern landscape of interconnectedness.
