Requiem for Justice with Simon Shaheen, Layth Sidiq + Tareq Rantisi
Three award-winning musicians from the Arab diaspora celebrate Palestinian music. Palestinian-American UD player Simon Shaheen has arranged both classical and folk pieces that can sound moody, but often also uplifting. He is assisted by violinist Layth Sadiq, artistic director of the New York Arabic Orchestra, and Palestinian percussionist Tareq Rantisi. Tamara Alrifai, Director of External Relations and Communications at UNRWA, commented on the concert.
