Danish String Quartet + Johannes Rostamo - Doppelgänger 4
Next to Schubert, the quartet now places Thomas Adès. This time, they literally step it up a notch: reinforced by cellist Johannes Rostamo, the Danish String Quartet will not play quartets in this concert, but quintets. One of Schubert's very last works is the 'String Quintet in C'. Adès, like Schubert, is composing his new quintet for the unusual line-up with an extra cello in Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.

Danish String Quartet
Regulars of the Muziekgebouw, that's what you can call the Danish String Quartet. For the fourth year in a row, the Danes are coming to Amsterdam with their project Doppelgänger , in which they combine quartets by Schubert with new contemporary compositions. The previous editions were without exception highlights of the concert season, and that will be no different with this final chapter of the project. In addition to Schubert, the quartet will now place Thomas Adès.
This time, things are literally being stepped up a gear: reinforced by cellist Johannes Rostamo, the Danish String Quartet will not be playing quartets tonight, but quintets .
