Ere Lievonen + Melle Weijters - Memorials
This packed program in Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, commemorates composers for whom 2024 is an anniversary year and at the same time celebrates the versatility of the Fokker organ. Anton de Beer and Leo de Vries composed especially for the 31-tone organ. But the instrument can also produce a romantic sound that fits nicely with Puccini, or with Bruckner's 'Third Symphony'.

Honorary Lievonen + Melle Weijters
Ere Lievonen has been the house organist of the Fokker organ since 2009. Lievonen is a specialist in the wonderfully floating world of microtonality. He is also a regular player of the organ in the Geertekerk in Utrecht and a pianist/harpsichordist in adventurous music ensembles. With guitarist Melle Weijters, Lievonen will perform part of Gustav Holst's famous Planets and a unique version of Duke Ellington's In a Sentimental Mood .
