Dutch Bach Society - All Soul's
Remembering with Bach in Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. Remember your mortality, which makes seizing the day ever more important. For centuries, November 2 has been All Souls' Day in the Western Christian tradition, the day of remembrance for the deceased. The Bach Society honors this tradition with a hopeful program full of music by predecessors and relatives of Bach.

Seize the day
Harpsichordist and organist Bart Naessens delves into the German Baroque with brilliant roles for music by Johann Michael Bach, Johann Christoph Bach and Heinrich Schütz. Music that rests in the transience of man (memento mori), but also brings a positive note (carpe diem). In the knowledge that death is inevitable; seize the day.
