Drummer and band leader Kevin van den Elzen comes to BIMHUIS for a deep dive into West Coast jazz with the Dutch Concert Big Band. The special guest is singer Anna Serierse. Expect an ode to the rich and widely varied big band tradition of the American West Coast, with compositions by legends such as Henry Mancini, Shorty Rogers, Terry Gibbs, Quincy Jones and Oliver Nelson.

Kevin van den Elzen
He moved to Los Angeles in 2015, originally to study with drummer Peter Erskine of Weather Report fame. The Dutchman played in many big bands led by illustrious names such as Bill Holman, John Beasley, and John Clayton. Now he’s back with the Dutch Concert Big Band he founded in 2013. The band has performed with famous artists from Dutch pop and jazz.
