Dutch Masters Ere Lievonen
Sixty years of Dutch music history on the Fokker organ. Not only the Fokker organ, but also the Dutch composer in the spotlight. How do the most important contemporary Dutch composers deal with the possibilities of the 31-tone organ? Various trendsetters in Dutch music such as Joël Bons and Peter-Jan Wagemans take up the challenge and try out the Fokker organ. Their new works sound alongside 'classics' such as Collages (1962) by Peter Schat and Larghetto by Hans Kox. More than sixty years of Dutch music history on the Fokker organ. Come and listen in the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.
Dutch Masters Ere Lievonen
More than sixty years of Dutch music history on the Fokker organ
New music is very important to keep the Fokker organ up to date. That is why a number of Dutch composers are commissioned to write new work. Each composer is given a few days to play the organ. They then write a miniature in which not only their own handwriting but also the organ is fully appreciated. Obtaining new work for the organ goes hand in hand with a look at today's Dutch music.
