Heroes
Great heroes of the tenor saxophone each get their own tribute on the new album 'Heroes' by Efraïm Trujillo IV. With seven original compositions, each dedicated to a favourite tenor saxophonist of bandleader Efraïm Trujillo. The pieces are inspired by Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane and Stan Getz, among others, and show the versatility of the tenor saxophonist. Together with his Ploctones buddy Jeroen Vierdag on bass and super talents Sjoerd van Eijck (Mudita) on piano and Dirk de Nijs (De Raad van Toezicht) on drums, Edison winner Efraïm Trujillo pays tribute to his great examples. He himself is inescapable as a tenor saxophonist, as he has previously shown in The Ploctones, Preacher Men and New Cool Collective Bigband: lyrical, rousing and robust at the same time.
