The performers have a close bond with each other; Vandoorn and Van Vugt formed their own duo for many years. The albums are both released by the Baixim Records label. Guitarist and composer Marc van Vugt was surprised with his first collection of guitar stories on his now-famous album The Lonely Coyote. Now, The Curious Badger delivers a new set of twelve compositions in which van Vugt continues his guitar adventures and gives us insight into his rich sound world. Acoustic guitar music in the tradition of Bill Connors, Ralph Towner, Pat Metheny and Egberto Gismonti.

Ineke Vandoorn was described in the Volkskrant as 'the adventurer among Dutch jazz singers.' With Jasper van 't Hof, she forms a duo that gives new meaning to the combination of singing and piano. Together, they surprise with a delicate dance of an expressive voice with seemingly limitless possibilities and warmth, and ten virtuoso, sometimes ferocious, fingers. They perform an original and varied repertoire that combines subtly interwoven melodies with Indian raga, well-known songs and dizzying improvisations. As befits the pioneer of European jazz rock, Jasper van 't Hof can be heard on electronic keyboards on the single Quiet, which preceded the album Dancing on Water.
