Faurés Requiem

Summer tour

After the success of recent years, the Laurens Collegium is going on another summer tour with organist Hayo Boerema. They perform Fauré's famous Requiem in various churches throughout the country. The French composer gave the Mass for the Dead a surprisingly hopeful and harmonious tone. His view of death was not pitch-black: "It is a joyful liberation, a longing for happiness on the other side of the grave, rather than a painful experience." Hayo Boerema frames the tour program with organ works by French contemporaries.
